Self-Employment Assistance
- Support to help Australians set up, develop and grow their own small business.
- Open to eligible job seekers or small business owners.
- Delivered nationally.
- Support includes help with a business plan, training, and mentoring for the first 12 months.

Employability Skills Training
- A program to help eligible people learn more about jobs, industries and working environments.
- Ages 15 and above who receive income support payments or have mutual obligation requirements.
- Delivered nationally.
- Support includes access to accredited training and work tickets.

Career Transition Assistance
- A program for job seekers aged 45 and above to improve their employability and transition into new careers, with inclusive support.
- For all job seekers aged 45 and above registered with a Workforce Australia or Disability Employment Services provider.
- Delivered nationally.

Transition to Work
- Personalised support for young people to identify and achieve their training and employment goals.
- Eligible school leavers and young people aged 15 to 24.
- Delivered in select regions of NSW and QLD.

NDIS Employment Supports
- Support for NDIS participants to develop a pathway to work or achieve employment goals.
- Available in select regions nationally.
- Specific supports for school leavers aged 15 to 22, and NDIS participants already in employment.

Apprenticeships
- Paid work with on-the-job training, and nationally recognised qualifications, for Australians.
- Open to school leavers, career changers and adults looking to reenter the workforce.
- Delivered by APM in Victoria.
- Specialist support for entering clean energy occupations and for women entering male-dominated industries.

First Nations peoples
- If you’re a First Nations job seeker you may be eligible for help through our specialised services, including as a Specialist First Nations provider for Workforce Australia.
- Services delivered nationally.
- Select regions have specialist support for First Nations people.

If you have been referred to APM by Services Australia (Centrelink), then you’re in the right place.
If you have been referred to APM by another organisation, we may have support options for you too.
Our programs vary in the type of support depending on your needs, but they each include steps to help you:
- build your job searching skills
- find job opportunities near you
- create a strong resume
- prepare for job interviews
- speak confidently to potential employers
Plus, we have specific support options if you're:
- a mature job seeker
- a young job seeker
- a recent school leaver or preparing to finish school
- First Nations person
- from a culturally diverse community
Your first appointment with us
When you come to your local APM office, you'll meet your friendly, employment consultant who is dedicated to you and your job search.
Once you've registered with Centrelink and confirmed APM will be your employment services provider, you'll be contacted by us directly to set up your first appointment.
Your employment consultant will also email you a survey, which you will need to bring.
At this first meeting, we'll talk through how we help and what you need to do. We want to get to know you and understand where you're at.
We're interested in your strengths, your goals and any challenged to finding employment.
