APM is a global health and human services company. Every day, our team of 15,500 helps people of all ages and stages of life with disability, injury, or health condition, unemployed people and those facing hardship or harm to positively impact their lives and the communities they live in.
For more than 32 years we have worked with individuals, families, communities, businesses and governments, in the early childhood, youth, employment, insurance, justice, veteran, aged care and disability sectors. This year, helping more than 2.4 million clients in 11 countries. At APM. We understand the power of employment and it’s ability to transform people’s lives and the lives of those around them, while helping employers unlock unique talent to meet their needs.
Our employment services are delivered through various government-funded employment programs.
Gary: To hit the perfect job like that, that just suited my skill set was just quite unbelievable really. To be back in the workforce again and feel normal – it’s great.
Health and wellness
Narrator: Our health and wellness businesses work with people from early childhood to later years who need physical, developmental, social or mental health support. We enable them to participate more fully in life’s everyday activities. We deliver government, insurance and corporate health solutions focused on mental health strategy and employee assistance programs, as well as post injury or illness rehabilitation, allied health therapy and assessment, psychological support services, and education and training programs.
Aimee: I think until somebody has an injury or their health changes, we take a lot of things for granted. It’s been such an honour to see over a year and a half where he is now, and I know he’s still got a long way to go, but he’s done an incredible job.
Disability and aged care
Narrator: Our disability and aged care businesses provide a range of in-home and community-based support services for people with disability and older people, allowing them to live as independently as possible and help build more diverse and inclusive communities. Making sure people can access the right funding, supports and services for their individual needs, is another way we enable better lives.
Ayesha: Just because you have a disability doesn’t mean you can’t do anything. You’re more than just your disability and sit and actually look at your skills, and you might have a lot of other qualities than just your disability. And yeah, the world’s a bit scary, but if we are all the same then the world would be very boring.
Assessments and communities
Narrator: APM delivers a range of assessment services and community based programs, on behalf of individuals, governments, insurance companies and corporates to support people living with disability or disadvantage and increase social inclusion for people in the justice, aged care and youth sectors.
Kamra: One of the things that’s really important to us in interacting with our clients is dignity. No matter where they come from, no matter what they’re doing. It’s the baseline - we’re people, and we have to remember that. When you treat a person with dignity, right there you have a level of trust and understanding that allows the other parts of the conversation to happen.
John: They’ve made me feel like a human being again. Today I have an apartment, and the biggest thing for me is that working with Equus, is they got me into a situation where now I can actually afford my rent, and it’s a realistic hope for the future. Half the smile I have today is because of them, and they literally saved my life.
