CSBP and Biosymm transcript
Ruth: My name’s Ruth. I am one of the management team at Biosymm. Biosymm as a company provides occupational health services, so we provide a range of different services from onsite physio to a virtual early intervention model, to project work with job dictionary development, manual handling training. Businesses will engage us when they have a particular need or challenge in that space that they want us to help with. So we know that the earlier someone is treated, the better the outcome is for that worker. There are a lot of complex factors that influence a worker's recovery and the fact that you can get early intervention via Biosymm means that we can communicate with the workforce, we know that workforce’s job demands.
Samy: A benefit of having a Biosymm physiotherapist on site is the fact that we can call upon them on very short notice. I've had several experiences where I wanted the physio to come and have a look at a particular task and they were able to come at very short notice, address that and basically have a very quick turnaround with the reporting. On top of that, if a worker was experiencing any pains, they can be seen to quite soon and in doing so they will have the best outcome.
Madi: The best thing about my role as a physiotherapist on site is just being able to interact with the workers, both in a clinic sense but also out on site as well. You actually get to spend some time with the patients and get to know them, be able to build a really strong rapport with them. You get the full picture of what people are doing with their daily lives and you get an idea about what impact you're having in terms of how you're getting them back to a meaningful job and meaningful life in general. And that's just really rewarding, being able to get people back to their better health to be able to work, but also to live out their normal daily lives as well.
Ruth: We really help the businesses that are looking for a proactive approach and we’ll use a lot of different innovative tactics to try and help with that injury prevention. So anything from exoskeletons to virtual physio, to using data management to make data driven decisions, we use all of these different methods to try and help businesses. We're really proud to have a really great professional and experienced team that have come often from private practice and looking for something different.
Samy: We’re very fortunate to have an onsite physio service here. Having that early intervention is mutually beneficial for the workplace as well as the employee.
