How APM and DES helped me find a job transcript

Andrew: APM, when I found them, did a great job. They helped me figure out my skills and what was right for me. And right from the start, they’ve been an amazing help. I was very nervous going for interviews because it’s something I’d obviously never done before. But once I got the rhythm of it and the hang of it, I started to calm down and answer the questions with ease.

Darren: I got referred to APM after I’d been to other job networks, and hadn’t got a job yet. And they helped me with my confidence, got me to do some courses, helped me out with my resumes, and just giving me support. They probably persuaded me to look in a different direction. That’s probably why I was unemployed for so long, I was looking in the one direction and having no luck.

Emma: The ladies at APM were lovely, and they basically gave me a roadmap of how I could even contemplate going back to work. They kept on getting me to try new things. I went and done some course through them, which was good and it got me out and about. When you’ve bee out of the normal life for a little while, you want some normality back in your life, and having a job is normal.

Kyle: I’d been with another employment service provider and was having issues with them, and got information on APM and gave them a phone call. When I met up with them, I couldn’t have been more happy. The team did everything they could, kept me in the loop, and told me that if there was anything I needed, I had the phone number of my consultant. They phoned me up and said, “We have a walkthrough as Superior Joinery.” And from there, that’s been my job.

Andrew: If you’re in the position I was before I started at APM, I would definitely say get in touch with them. They’ve helped change my life. It’s incredible the work they do.

Darren: My nerves aren’t as bad as they used to be. It makes me happy. I’m doing something, I have a purpose.

Emma: Even if you want to give up on yourself, APM will not give up on you at all. They wont.

Kyle: Employers, many of them don’t think people with disabilities are capable of doing anything. But given the chance, we are.
