Onilda and Ingeus Spain transcript

Onilda: My name is Onilda Ruiz Sosa. I’m 30 years old. I’m Nicaraguan girl and I have a 12 year old daughter.

Maru: My name is Maru Soriano. I’m an employment advisor in Ingeus, and we conduct an employment orientation program. Basically our work consists of providing employment guidance to users, and accompany them throughout their job search process. When I came here I had a purpose to find a better home for my daughter so I said to myself, I’m going to a new country to work and my life will be different. Onilda was coming from a situation of unemployment. She has previous work experience in a more informal setting so we had the challenge of finding a steady job that gave her the stability she was looking for. The hardest part of finding a job was in the beginning I didn’t know how I was going to be able to find a job in the first place. When Onilda started with us through individual sessions she had with me in those sessions we focused on her work goals designing her career goal designing her resume as well.

Onilda: From the moment I enrolled in this company I felt different, you know? Seeing Maru’s support she enrolled me in many companies and I thought this is when my life is going to change and it happened in the blink of an eye. They called me as soon as I enrolled.

Maru: As soon as she found her job, and before she even got the job we provided continuous follow-ups. Why? Because we care about knowing their situation, if they like their job.

Onilda: Everyday I wake up, and I’m very excited to go to my job, because I like it. I want to tell others: come to this program, you will be supported first of all, and also they will find you a great job and I want to thank them with all of my heart.
