Sajad and APM Employment Services transcript

Sajad: My name is Sajad. I am from Afghanistan. When I came here, it was a big challenge for me to find a job, and to find some career for me.

Paul: Sajad had a story of coming to Australia without family supported a bit of time within Darwin before he managed to supported a bit of time within Darwin before he managed to relocate to Adelaide and he was out beating the pavement, he was out supporting his own endeavours to secure employment with the unknowingness of what APM was. And then he presented himself willing and open, I suppose, to our assistance with the path he'd taken on his journey. So I was able to understand Sajad’s capability to employment within our one on one contact in that regular sort of contact we were working through initially his resume, that he felt that needed to be updated, which we were able to achieve and get a clear sort of approach to what sort of employment he was seeking. And so he had transferable skills that supported what he was able to do at home in his home country, that could sort of find some employment and secure employment here.

Sajad: Before I come to APM it was difficult - I searched the internet and also knock on the door of many companies, but it was very difficult for me to find a job because they asked me for some documents and they asked me for license, something like that. And I had not any of them. I come to APM and they showed me that how to follow the process and how to find a job and what we need for that.

Paul: I believe APM has a one on one approach to support our participants. We look at them individually, not just the one sort of mold that fits all in a service model that is just you need to be in our office, we're going to make you do this, we want you to have this done. We work with them and understand what they can do, willing to do and understand, you know, their path to employment and their path that supports them while they are actually in front of us as well.

Sajad: Right now, I feel very good. I have a job and also I have income and I want to be someone to have a plan and to be better in the future.
