Assessments
Whether you're preparing for employment, starting a new role, or already working, assessments can help identify the support, workplace adjustments, or services you may need to succeed.
APM delivers National Panel of Assessors (NPA) services across Australia in partnership with Konekt, part of APM Group.
What are assessments?
National Panel of Assessors (NPA) services help people access the right workplace support for their needs.
If you're participating in Inclusive Employment Australia, you may be referred for an assessment to identify the support you need at work or on your pathway to employment.
Depending on the assessment type, referrals may come from your provider, employer, JobAccess, or another support service.
We provide three types of assessments:
- Ongoing Support Assessments (OSA)
- Supported Wage System (SWS) Assessments
- Workplace Modifications Services (WMS) Assessments
These assessments help identify practical solutions that support people to start, keep, or progress in employment.

Why choose APM?

National coverage
Together with Konekt, we deliver assessment services across Australia, helping participants, employees and employers access workplace support when it's needed most.
Focused on practical outcomes
Our assessments are designed to identify practical solutions, workplace supports and adjustments that can help people succeed at work.
How assessments work
1. Referral
If an assessment is required, you'll be referred through your employment provider, employer, Department of Social Services or JobAccess.
2. Meet with an assessor
An assessor will explain the process, discuss your circumstances and help you understand what to expect.
3. Assessment and recommendations
The assessment may include interviews, workplace observations and discussions with relevant people. Recommendations are then prepared based on your support needs.
4. Access the right support
Assessment outcomes help identify the services, workplace supports, modifications or assistance that may help you achieve your employment goals.

Understanding the assessments

An Ongoing Support Assessment helps determine whether regular support is needed to help someone maintain employment.
The assessment may include:
- Reviewing work history
- Reviewing support already received
- Talking with providers and employers (with consent)

Supported Wage System (SWS) Assessments
A Supported Wage System Assessment helps determine a fair wage for employees whose productivity is affected by disability.
The assessment can include:

- Assessing workplace productivity
- Discussing outcomes with employees and employers
- Preparing wage agreements
- Submitting documentation to the Fair Work Commission
Workplace Modifications Services (WMS)
Workplace Modifications Services assessments identify workplace changes, equipment, or assistive technology that may improve accessibility and productivity.

- Specialised equipment
- Accessibility improvements
These assessments are delivered in partnership with JobAccess and the Employment Assistance Fund (EAF).
