Understanding neurological disability and acquired brain injury
Neurological disabilities affect the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord and nerves.
These conditions can affect movement, learning, communication, memory, concentration or everyday activities.
An acquired brain injury (ABI) is damage to the brain that occurs after birth, such as through illness, stroke, infection or an accident.
Every person's experience is different. Many people with neurological disabilities or acquired brain injuries bring valuable skills, resilience, experience and strengths to the workplace.
